1. Birlingham Flower & Produce Show, 1st September
 
This year's Flower & Produce Show will be held on Saturday 1st September in Birlingham Village Hall. As well as all the traditional classes, there are five Jubilee-themed classes. Doors open at 2pm for public viewing; 50p entrance, under-16s free.

2. Broadband Survey
 
The broadband survey to get faster broadband speeds locally closes this Sunday (2nd September). The more people who complete the survey, the more likely we are to get improved broadband. The survey only takes a couple of minutes to complete, so please persuade as many people as possible to fill it in.

3. Swan Beer Festival, 7th-9th September
 
The Swan Inn's 19th Beer Festival will be held on the weekend of Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September. Featuring 24 beers and 10 ciders, the festival is open all day on all three days. There will be bands playing on the Friday and Saturday nights.

4. Cardiff Arms Park Male Voice Choir, 8th September
 
The Cardiff Arms Park Male Voice Choir is visiting Birlingham on Saturday 8th September. There will be a concert in St James's Church from 7pm to 9pm (with interval). Wine and nibbles in the Village Hall afterwards.
 
Tickets are available from John Comins at The Old Rectory at a cost of 10 (to include a glass of wine and refreshments). Please let Marian Kirkland or John Comins know by next Tuesday (4th) if you want tickets, so that the catering can be organised.
 
Proceeds are in aid of the new heating system at St James's Church and Birlingham Village Hall Roof Appeal. Full details are available at www.birlingham.org/docs/male_voice_choir_2012.pdf.

5. Celebration of a Decade at The Swan, 15th September
 
Nic and Imogen Carson are celebrating ten years at the Swan Inn on Saturday 15th September. There will be afternoon tea from 3pm, with a party and live music in the evening.

6. Harvest Festival with the Bishop of Worcester, 16th September
 
The Harvest Festival will take place on Sunday 16th September at 4.00pm in St James's Church. This year it will be a very special occasion as we will be joined by the Bishop of Worcester.
 
There will be a reception in Birlingham Village Hall after the service.
