Christmas is nearly with us, so here are some
details of what’s happening in the village over the festive period.

This year’s Christmas services at St James’s Church
are:
Sunday 16th December at 6.30pm: Carol Service,
followed by refreshments in Birlingham Village Hall
Sunday 23rd December at 9.15am: Said Holy
Communion
Monday 24th December at 4.00pm: Christingle and
Blessing the Crib
Tuesday 25th December at 10.15am: Christmas Day
Service

The Swan Inn will be holding its usual Boxing Day
Buffet. Hot and cold two-course running buffet, two sittings at 12.00pm and
2.30pm. Book your meal on 01386 750485.
The New Year’s Eve Party is fancy dress, costumes starting with the letters
K or L. Free entry, complimentary nibbles, prizes and disco. All welcome.

Dates for bin collections over the Christmas period
are as follows:
Friday 28th December: black bins (plus up to two
extra refuse sacks)
Friday 4th January: green bins (plus extra clear
recycling sacks)
Saturday 5th January: brown bins
Thursday 10th January: black bins (no extra
sacks)
Clear recycling sacks will be available from the phone
box.

At its meeting on 21st November, the Parish Council
provisionally set its Council Tax precept for 2012/13 to £5000.00. The
approximate annual amount per household will be:
Band A: £18, Band B: £21,
Band C: £24, Band D: £27, Band E: £33, Band
F: £40, Band G: £45, Band H: £55.
