The Birlingham Evening Fete is on Friday 7th June, starting at 6.30pm (not 6.00pm, as previously stated) and will be at the Cricket Ground.

The first meeting to discuss ideas was held last week and a wide range of stalls and activities for all the family were suggested.
Although we have a large number of helpers, we still need more volunteers willing to give a little time, so that everyone can enjoy the fete. If you would like to help in any way, no matter how small, please contact Steve Morris at smorris@butford.co.uk or phone 01386 751717.

About 50 people attended the Annual Church Meeting on Monday 29th April to show support for St James’s Church. It was agreed that Harry Porter would continue as churchwarden for another year and a number of people offered to assist with specific tasks.

However, more help is still needed and the PCC are looking for volunteers to take on some of the small tasks that can be delegated by the churchwardens. If you would like to help in any way, please contact Harry Porter on 01386 750540. The list of duties to be performed by the churchwardens and those that can be delegated to others can be viewed at www.birlingham.org/docs/churchwarden_duties.jpg.

Rags, the 7-year-old Jack Russell, who went missing from a house in Eckington Road on Thursday 24th January, has been found. His owner says: “After almost three months, he was spotted running along Three Springs Road on Tuesday 16th April. It is still a complete mystery but at least the dog is back home safe, albeit thin and quiet. If only he could talk!!”
