The bar at Birlingham Cricket Club will be open for several nights a week whilst the Swan Inn is closed. This week, the bar will be open at the following times:
  • Thursday 12th June, 6.00pm (showing the opening game of the World Cup between Brazil and Croatia at 9.00pm)
  • Friday 13th June, 6.30pm
  • Saturday 14th June, 6.30pm
  • Sunday 15th June, 6.00pm
The bar will close at 10.30pm each evening. Details of regular weekly opening times will be posted on www.birlingham.org as soon as they are available.

The service at St James’s Church this Sunday, 15th June (Trinity Sunday), will be Evensong at 5.30pm (not the regular 10.15am Morning Praise).

Denise McGowan is hosting a meeting to finalise Birlingham’s entry in the Wychavon Parish Games. The meeting will be held at 1 Tudor Cottage, Church Street at 7.00pm on Friday 20th June. Entries for the games have to be in by 30th June.

This year’s Vintage & Classic Car Rally will take place on Friday 18th July. The rally is at Birlingham Cricket Club, starting at 6.00pm. In addition to vintage and classic cars and motorcycles, there will be a barbecue, bar, tombola and raffle. Entrance is £2 for adults, children under 16 free.
 
This is the 20th anniversary of the first car rally, held in 1994. If you wish to bring a classic vehicle, please phone 01386 750251.

The Rev. Kenneth Crawford will be licensed in his new parish, St James the Great, Darlington, on Friday 25th July. Pershore Abbey is planning to hire a coach to take those who wish to go. The coach would leave Pershore at 1.00pm and return from Darlington at 10.00pm, with the journey taking approximately four hours. The price per person will be about £20, assuming that at least 40 people wish to travel.

The Swan Inn have been asked to remove their recycling bins from the car park, so these facilities will no longer be available in the village.
 
All recycling should now be placed in your green bins. Additional recycling bins are available on request from Wychavon District Council. Phone Client Services on 01386 565018 for more information (Monday–Friday 9.00am–5.00pm).
