Basil and June Barke have very kindly offered to host a Summer Garden Party at The Clock House, Lower End on Saturday 11th July from 2.00pm until 5.00pm. The event is organised by the Friends of St. James’s Church and Birlingham Parochial Church Council, with all proceeds going to capital projects and the upkeep of our lovely church.
The Garden Party is open to anyone who lives in the village and their close family and friends. It has something for everyone: tombola, lucky dip, story corner, plant and book stalls. You can also enjoy a delicious tea with homemade scones and cakes. And . . . there’s a hat competition, so whether it’s a boater or a beanie, why not join in the fun – there will be a prize for the best hat!
Free entry. More information is available at www.birlingham.org/docs/garden_party_2015.pdf.
Can you help? We’re looking for raffle prizes and donations of plants, books and tombola prizes. If you would like to provide any of the above, or would like to lend a hand on the day, please contact Angela Fitch on 01386 751682 or email angela.fitch@btinternet.com.
This year Birlingham will be entering teams in the Skittles, Men’s Darts and Cross Country competitions in the Wychavon Parish Games.

Birlingham has entered a team in this year's Parish Games Cross Country, but a few more runners are still needed to make up a full team. Each extra runner who takes part will allow us to avoid automatic penalty points, so you do not have to be Mo Farah to do your bit for the team!
Event details: Pershore High School, Monday 13th July. Registration 7.15pm, Race starts 7.30pm. Distance 3000m.
Please could any runners contact Jon Komor (jon.komor@hotmail.co.uk). We know you are out there!
