Here is a reminder of the events coming up over the next few days:
  • Worcestershire Open Studios at Avonside Cottage, Lower End, Saturday 29th to Monday 31st August, 10.00am until 5.00pm each day. See for details.
  • Special Evensong service at St James’s Church on Sunday 30th August at 5.30pm (with Rev. Claire Lording) for the return of Rev. Rashleigh Duke’s books. Refreshments after the service. See

Birlingham Parish Council’s Village Survey has been delivered to everyone in the village aged 18 or over and the deadline for completion is next Monday, 31st August. The Parish Council want to know your views on topics such as planning, local services, village amenities and public transport, so please take a few minutes to complete the survey. All replies will be treated in confidence.
Surveys should be returned to the postbox at Birlingham Village Hall by Monday 31st August. A public meeting will be held in the autumn to present the results. More details of the survey are given at
The Birlingham Flower & Produce Show will be held on Saturday 5th September. This year the Show will be held at Birlingham Cricket Club. The ground will be open from 1.30pm and there will be a barbecue, attractions and stalls
Completed entry forms must be delivered to 4 Church Street by 8.00pm on Thursday 3rd September. The Schedule and Entry Form can be obtained from the telephone box or downloaded from
Entries can be staged at the Cricket Club between 8.30am and 11.00am on Saturday 5th September. Additional entries may be accepted at this time at double the normal entry fee.
The Show will be open for public viewing from 2.00pm on Saturday and the presentation of trophies and auction of produce will take place at about 4.00pm.
Services at St James’s Church during September will be held at the following times:

  • Sunday 20th: Morning Praise, 10.15am (Joanna Williams)

The Harvest Festival will be held on Sunday 4th October at 11.00am, followed by a ‘Bring and Share’ lunch in the Village Hall. More details later.

As no election has been requested for the current vacancy on the Parish Council, the Council will co-opt a new member at their next meeting on Wednesday 16th September.
