Congratulations to Cuppa & Chat, which celebrates its second birthday next week.
In this issue:
The next Cuppa & Chat takes place on Wednesday 2nd March, from 3.00pm to 4.30pm, in Birlingham Village Hall. This will be Cuppa & Chat’s second anniversary, so come and enjoy tea, coffee and a slice of birthday cake and help them to celebrate in style.
All are welcome and transport can be provided if required. For more information, please contact Adrianne Woodward on 01386 750936.
A reminder that the first of this year’s litter picks takes place on Saturday 5th March. The litter pick has been timed to coincide with the ‘Clean for the Queen’ initiative, part of the Queen’s 90th Birthday celebrations. Please join us for this occasion and help us to create a tidy village.
Meet on the village green at 10.00am. Litter-picking equipment is provided. Come along for an hour and help make the most of the special-edition Union flag litter pickers.
Services at St James’s Church during March will be held at the following times:
  • Sunday 6th: Mothering Sunday Service, 10.30am (with David Bray)
  • Sunday 13th: Eucharist, 10.30am (Rev. Claire Lording)
  • Sunday 21st: Palm Sunday Morning Praise, 10.30am (Peter Stansbie)
  • Sunday 30th: Easter Communion, 10.30am (Rev. Henry Morgan)
Please come along and take part in these special services in the run-up to Easter and on Easter Day itself.
Unfortunately, the St Patrick’s Party planned for Saturday 19th March has had to be cancelled due to slow ticket sales. The party would have clashed with the England rugby match, as well as other events on that day.
The party was to have raised funds for St James’s Church but it is hoped that a replacement event will be organised in the near future.
Karen Brighton writes:
We have two ponies and one of them, Pepper, is desperately requiring a stable for 2-3 months. Her companion Jack will also need to go with her.
If anyone has a single stable with grazing available for rent please contact us on 01386 751451.
