So that Marion knows how many to cater for this Sunday, tickets for the Queen’s Birthday Brunch need to be booked by tomorrow (Wednesday) at the latest. Tickets are available from John Hill (Sycamore House, Church Street) or June Hiden (Lamorna, Broadway Road), or by leaving a message on 01386 751717. The cost is £8 for adults, £5 for children (under 14) or £20 for a family (2 adults plus 2 children).  This includes either a full English breakfast (with vegetarian option) or smoked salmon and asparagus. The meal will also include toast, orange juice and tea or coffee, and a glass of fizz or a non-alcoholic drink on arrival. The brunch will be served between 12.00 and 2.00pm (but please don’t all arrive at once!)

Children’s and adults races take place from 2.00pm. Tea and coffee will be available (for a small charge) from 4.00pm. A quiz on the life of the Queen will be circulated during the afternoon. Full details of the event, organised by the Jubilee Committee, can be viewed at www.birlingham.org/docs/q90_brunch.pdf.

If you would like more information on the Parish Council and its role, and how you can apply to become a councillor, please email the Clerk, June Hiden, at birlingham_clerk@yahoo.co.uk.
