3. Farewelll to Orion
Edgar
We are very sorry to be losing
our curate, Orion Edgar, who will be leaving the Pershore Abbey Benefice on 19th
November. In order to gain wider experience and further his ministerial
formation, Orion will continue his training at Holy Trinity & St James,
Malvern.
We wish Orion and Sharon and their daughters, Joan and Audrey,
well with their
move.

4. Birlingham Photography Club, Tuesday 7th
November

The next meeting of Birlingham Photography Club is on Tuesday 7th
November: Finding your photo mojo.
So, you’ve got the kit, but you’re not
quite sure what you want to do with it! This is fairly normal for many
photographers. Maybe you just need a little inspiration to try something
different. BPC welcomes top photographer James Greenoff back and his theme is
‘inspiration’.
When a photographer can’t quite find a new niche, or
develop an existing one, a little bit like ‘writer’s block’, it can lead to all
sorts of problems, not least packing the camera away and forgetting all about
it! James will unlock doors to new ideas and how to achieve the best
results.
All are welcome no matter what your experience is or what camera
equipment you use. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, learn
some new skills and get more out of your time and camera! Meetings are £3pp and
that includes light refreshments. (Under 18s to be accompanied.) More
information is available at www.birlinghamphotography.co.uk
or email birlinghamphoto@btinternet.com.
STOP PRESS. Annual BPC
Photo Competition – open to all BPC members – free to enter – open theme –
deadline for submissions is 2nd
December.

5. Remembrance Services, Saturday 11th &
Sunday 12th November
There will be a
short Service of Remembrance on Saturday 11th November at Birlingham War
Memorial, during which a wreath will be laid. The service starts at 10.45am and
will be followed by refreshments in the Church.
On Remembrance Sunday,
12th November, there will be a Remembrance Service with Communion, beginning at
10.30am, with two minutes’ silence at 11.00am. Both services will be conducted
by Revd Orion Edgar.
There is also a ceremony at Eckington on the Sunday,
beginning at Eckington Cross at 10.45am . A wreath will be laid by John Hill on
behalf of Birlingham Parish Council and the ceremony will be followed by a
service in Eckington
Church.

6. Police Security
Advice
West Mercia Police have sent
out some advice on how to reduce the risk of theft or burglary. This is
particularly important as some burglaries have recently been reported in the
area.
The advice can be viewed at www.birlingham.org/docs/police_2017_oct.pdf.
